It’s so easy to feel down and gloomy when you think about all the bad things and negative news in the world but how often do you take the time to consider all the good things in your world? I find it very easy to cheer myself up with small and seemingly insignificant things around me. Bunch enough of them together and I find that I have much more things to be happy about, then sad.
Here are a list of 10 things that make me really happy…
I know, I know…. That’s what everybody says but it is true. I love to travel. My fondest memories are of spontaneous getaways and nomadic shenanigans on the road to camping and caravan parks, fishing spots, foreign towns and cities, museums and craft markets. So I naturally associate vacations and explorations with edutainment, happy times and personal growth.
2. Reaching Goals
I’m a fiend for strategic analysis; always planning things and making lists. I love checking things off my lists.
3. My Sister
She’s my partner in crime and couch surfing. We have a similar sense of humour and she likes to think she has a better sense of style….whatever.
4. My Dog
He loves to be chased around the yard but hates photographs and will only give affection when he’s good and ready. You may rub his belly as he wishes, he may or may not reward you with or a massive stank bomb… his choice. He’s like a grumpy but loveable old man with the personality and flatulence to match.
Geek girl over here! I geek out over cool tech and toys. Robot Arm? Yaaas! I have no shame, judge all you want.
6. Crafts & DIY
I wouldn’t be a true techy if I didn’t love to build, refurbish and take things apart. I’ve been ripping things apart and reassembling for as long as I can remember. I love working with my hands, fixing and making useful things, some are not so pretty but when they are it’s a bonus.
7. My Mom
The biggest clown I know! Nobody has inspired and motivated me more than my amazing mommy. We don’t always see eye to eye but we can always laugh about it later. Much later.
8. Living Healthy
Nothing beats a healthy diet. Adopting healthy eating habits has been the best thing I could’ve done for myself. I lost a ton of weight, my body feels amazing, my energy levels have spiked and my overall mood went from 0 to 100.
Don’t take me camping if there is no pool. This is not up for debate. These are the rules. Good bye.
This would go hand in hand with setting goals and the craft & DIY. I love making things. I love planning things. Design is a very important part of all that. It’s strategic, creative, pragmatic and actionable.
