As someone stepping into MM romance for the first time, I thought I was ready. I was not. God of Fury delivered obsession, vulnerability, and a gay-awakening arc so beautifully done that I kept pausing just to breathe. There was something deeply intriguing about watching two men crash into each other with this kind of intensity. It felt raw. It felt honest. It felt like a door I did not know I had opened.

Nikolai and Bran did not ease me into the genre. They shoved me in and locked the door behind me.

Quick Summary

God of Fury pulls you into a dark MM college romance where obsession feels like fate and every moment between the leads holds a quiet threat. Nikolai Sokolov, a mafia heir with a violent reputation, collides with Bran, the golden boy artist who wants a simple life. Their connection is immediate, inconvenient, and impossible to ignore. The tension is electric, the pacing is relentless, and the emotional stakes climb fast.

My Thoughts

I knew this book would be intense. I did not realise it would take over my entire weekend. There is something addictive about Nikolai and Bran. Their first interactions felt like sparks hitting cold metal. Loud. Unexpected. Impossible to look away from.

Nikolai is one of the most compelling love interests I have read in a while. He carries menace and vulnerability with the same ease, and it works. Bran balances him perfectly. His steadiness becomes both a shield and a weakness. Watching them push against each other, then slowly pull closer, made my chest feel tight in the best possible way.

The emotional tension is near constant. Rina Kent writes desire like a living thing. Every glance feels loaded. Every choice feels risky. There were moments where I had to pause and just breathe because the chemistry was that intense.

Nothing here feels gratuitous. The dark elements support the story rather than overshadow it. When the final chapters landed, they left me sitting quietly with my thoughts. That is always the sign of a book that got under my skin.
