Photo Journal: A Day at uShaka Marine World, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal

Some family fun time at uShaka Marine World!

During our stay at Pennington Beach, we took a short break to explore the vibrant city of Durban before heading back to Johannesburg. One of the highlights of our trip was spending a day at uShaka Marine World, a must-visit destination for anyone in the area.

uShaka Marine World, a sprawling 16-hectare (40-acre) theme park, opened on 30 April 2004 and has since become one of Durban’s premier attractions. The park is divided into four distinct sections: uShaka Sea World, uShaka Wet ‘n Wild, uShaka Beach, and uShaka Village Walk. Located on the scenic strip of land between the beachfront and the harbour, uShaka Marine World was the first phase in the redevelopment of the Durban Point area.

Check out the photo gallery below to see some of my favourite captured moments from this fun-filled day. From thrilling water slides to mesmerizing marine life, uShaka offered something for everyone in the family. I was so immersed in the fun that I didn’t manage to capture it all on camera—but the memories are unforgettable!
